For those of you who missed the occasion, 1pm yesterday Iceland time was Iceland Hour. During this time, Icelanders were encouraged to log on and wax lyrical about their nation to their online buddies. The event was part of the Inspired by Iceland campaign, and a video has been released to commemorate the occassion.
The video is introduced by president Ólafur Grímsson and features spectacular scenes of Icelandic nature, clips of Björk laying on a gravel beach, and fantastic Icelandic accents. In addition, there are interviews with key figures about Iceland’s geology, literature and cultural heritage, as well as views from tourists who all seem to be absolutely smitten with Iceland. Well worth checking out if you want to re-live the event.
